I downsized my home, and I won’t pretend every part was easy โ€” letting go of things you’d kept for years never is. But on the other side of it is a home that feels lighter every time I walk in.

What stayed: the window light, the plants, the music corner, and only the belongings I actually use or love. What went: duplicates, guilt-keepsakes, and anything that needed a home more than I needed it. For usable things, I leave them neatly where a neighbor might find and enjoy them โ€” one person’s extra is another person’s find.

A smaller home isn’t a smaller life. Mine feels bigger, because everything in it earned its place.
